DoulaCare Ireland are excited to bring this course to help doula, birth workers and small business owners grow their business to the highest professional standards. This will be an interactive course based on adult learning styles, with lots of group discussion and trouble shooting. We will cover all aspects you need to have a professional doula business

This course is run by Mary founder and co-owner of DoulaCare Ireland. Mary worked as a PAYE worker full time before setting up her own business in 2007 after the birth of her first child, which inspired her to train as a doula and GentleBirth Instructor. She juggled part-time PAYE work while developing and growing her business for several years, eventually leaving her 9-5 job to focus full-time on her business. In 2017 she joined forces with Jen to set up DoulaCare Ireland. She has experience as a sole trader, partnership and running a limited company.

Mary has 2 children and knows the challenges people can face when wanting to set up a business. Women in particular may have different needs when starting a business. Many are juggling working full-time or part-time with wanting to start a business. Others may be juggling being a parent, partner and/or carer. It can be hard to carve out time to find to support your business. While many people love the idea of being a doula or childbirth educator and have no problem doing this hands-on work - finding the time to do the business tasks needed can be a struggle. Many of you will have fears about how to do accounts, keep records or the thoughts of having to post on Instagram.

This course focuses on helping you identify what you need for your business. Everyone will have different goals and aims, and these can depend on the amount of time you have to offer to grow and develop your business. Mary offers a practical course that helps you figure out what your individual needs are and not a one-size-fits-all all course. Mary recognises that you may not have 40 hours a week to give to your business. Having taken lots of business courses herself over the years - one thing she always struggled with was the assumption that she needed to be focused on the business full-time. This wasn’t (and still isn’t) possible. So this course will help you figure out what time you have to give and offer practical information to help you build up your business in the time you have for yourself.

This course is packed full of information and over the 2 evenings we will cover:
